The short version
Everything you enter into Dial stays on your phone. Dial has no accounts, no cloud, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. We cannot see, access, sell, or share your data — because it never reaches us. Deleting the app deletes your data.
What Dial stores, and where
Dial is a symptom diary. The information you enter — daily symptom ratings, medications and doses you record, cycle and period entries, blood results, life events, notes, and your name if you provide it during onboarding — is stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database (SwiftData), inside the app’s private storage area. This data is never transmitted off your device by Dial. There is no sign-up and no account: we could not identify you even if we wanted to.
Your device’s standard iOS backups (iCloud Backup or encrypted local backup, if you have them enabled) may include Dial’s local data along with the rest of your phone. Those backups are managed by Apple under your Apple Account settings and Apple’s own privacy policy; Pazulabs has no access to them.
Health data
The symptoms and medications you log in Dial are health information, and we treat that seriously. Dial’s design decision is simple: the safest place for your health data is your own device, so that is the only place it lives. Dial does not connect to Apple Health / HealthKit, does not upload health data anywhere, and does not use your data for research, advertising, model training, or any other purpose. Dial provides no medical advice; it records what you enter and displays your own data back to you.
PDF reports you export
Dial can generate a PDF report of your data, designed for you to share with your own clinician. That export is created on your device and goes only where you send it (for example, via the iOS share sheet to your email, printer, or files). From the moment you share it, it is under your control and the control of whoever you send it to — choose recipients as carefully as you would with any medical document.
Subscriptions and payments
Dial offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions purchased through Apple’s App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple; Pazulabs never receives your name, payment details, or billing address. Apple provides us only anonymous, aggregated sales reporting (for example, the number of subscriptions in a country). Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are managed through your Apple Account and are covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Data we receive from Apple
Like every iOS app, we can view aggregated, anonymised statistics that Apple provides to developers (such as download counts and, only for users who have opted in to sharing analytics with developers in their iOS settings, anonymised crash reports). These contain no personal information and nothing you have entered into Dial.
If you contact us
If you email us for support, we will receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply and resolve your issue, we don’t add you to any mailing list, and we delete support correspondence when it is no longer needed.
What we don’t do
No analytics SDKs. No advertising SDKs. No tracking pixels. No fingerprinting. No selling or sharing of data (there is nothing to sell). No AI training on your data. Dial requests no sensitive device permissions — it does not use your camera, microphone, location, or contacts.
Children
Dial is intended for adults managing perimenopause and is not directed at children under 16.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data a company holds about you — access, correction, erasure, portability, and others. Because Dial’s architecture means Pazulabs holds no personal data about you, there is typically nothing for us to produce, correct, or erase: your data is already exclusively in your hands, and you can view, edit, export (PDF), or erase it (by deleting entries or the app) at any time. If you believe we do hold personal data about you — for example, support emails — contact us and we will resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Dial ever changes how data is handled — for example, adding an optional cloud backup — we will update this policy, change the app’s App Store privacy label to match, and clearly explain the change before any new data practice takes effect. The current policy will always be available at this page.
